Privacy Policy

Whendar is an iOS app that turns text, photos, dictation, and forwarded email into calendar events and to-dos. It is built by an independent developer for real people — the privacy posture is simple: your calendar data lives in your own accounts, and we handle the minimum needed to do the job.

What Whendar processes

• Captured content. Text you paste, share, or dictate, and photos of schedules, are sent to Whendar's parsing service, which uses an AI model to extract structured scheduling details (titles, dates, places). Captures are processed to produce that result and are not sold, used for advertising, or used to train models.
• Forwarded email. Mail forwarded to our capture address is accepted only from addresses you have registered in the app. The extracted items are stored so they can appear on your device; the rest of the message is not kept.
• Shared Radars. Items you place in a shared Radar (with the people you invite) are stored by our sync service so everyone in that Radar sees them. Deleting an item in the app deletes it from the sync service.
• Calendar feed links. If you create a calendar-subscription (ICS) link for a Radar, anyone or any service holding that link — for example Google Calendar, if you subscribe there — can fetch that Radar's event titles, times, and locations on demand. Links can be revoked at any time from Settings.
• Discovery (optional). If you turn on Discovery and save an interests profile (interests you type plus a home city), that profile is sent to an AI model provider (Anthropic) each time a discovery runs — including runs Whendar starts on a schedule in the background, not only when you tap the button — and search queries derived from your profile are sent to a web-search provider to find real, citable events. Your profile is never sold, used for advertising, or used to train models, and deleting it in the app stops all discovery runs.
• On your device. Events you approve are written to your Apple Calendar; to-dos to Apple Reminders. That data stays in your Apple accounts. Whendar keeps a local index of the items it created so it can show and edit them.

Google user data

If you choose to connect Google Calendar, Whendar requests access to your calendar events (the calendar.events scope) and uses it only to:

• create and update events you explicitly confirm, on the Google calendar you choose;
• read events to display your calendar inside the app and to warn you when something you're about to add appears to already be on your calendar.

Your Google sign-in tokens are stored only in your device's Keychain. Whendar's servers never receive, store, or process your Google Calendar data. Your Google data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never read by a human except with your explicit permission, or where required for security or legal reasons.

What Whendar doesn't do

• No ads, no analytics brokers, no selling or sharing of personal data.
• No reading of your calendar or reminders beyond what the features above require.
• No accounts or passwords — access is by invitation.

Deleting your data

Delete any item in the app and it is removed from Whendar's records and sync service (calendar events and reminders it created are removed from your calendars too, unless you keep them). To remove everything associated with you — including your capture credential and registered email addresses — contact us and we'll do it promptly.

Our sync database keeps a rolling 30-day recovery backup (so a bad bug can't destroy your items). Deleted data leaves that backup within 30 days of deletion — that window is the outer bound on removal.

Children

Whendar is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
